The Christmas Story (told by really adorable kids!)

I saw this version of The Christmas Story the other day and cannot stop watching it! I wanted to share it with you all because I LOVE celebrating Christmas. Everything from decorating cookies to going around the neighborhood looking at Christmas lights...I always look forward to this time of the year! My favorite part of this season though is remembering that this season of celebration is all about the birth of Jesus. I would encourage you to watch this video and thank God for His amazing story and how much He loves us!

"And the angel said to them 'Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of a great joy that wil be for all the people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David, a Savior, who is Christ the Lord" - Luke 2:10-11

I'm in love with...Chick-Fil-A!

Tim Hawkins is a hilarious comedian who loves Jesus and wants to honor the Lord with the gift God gave him. He has lots of videos on YouTube, but this is by far one of my favorites! Mostly because I do share a love for Chick-fil-A and I think Tim nails it as he sings about his favorite restaurant.

What is your favorite thing about Chick-fil-A? I could eat their waffle fries and drink their fresh lemonade probably every day...OH, and not to mention that chick-fil-a sauce!!! (they perfected the honey mustard & bbq sauce combo).

We Remember...

Hey Sky Ranchers,
As you all probably already know, yesterday marked the 10 year anniversary of 9/11. I am reminded of a few things...

1. I can't help but to stop, think, be thankful, and pray. Thank you to every fireman, policeman, and every person that was involved in helping out and now hold the honor of being a hero in our eyes. Thank you to the men and women that fight for our freedom every single day. We are so grateful for you!

2. God has a good purpose in all the hard things that happen to his people. His promise in Romans 8:28: ‘We know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him." It is a great thing to trust in Him!

3. We need Jesus! He mightily loves His people and it's important to make God a huge part of our lives. Jesus gives us joy unlike any other.

As you can see, camp is located in heart of the Western slope of the Rocky Mountains. It is so beautiful.

Every week during the summer we run a family camp so you should totally tell your parents you want to go! OR...if you know of a Military Family that would love to be apart tell them to contact Sky Ranch at 903-266-3300!

FOURTH OF JULY!

What a wonderful time of the year! The Fourth of July is a such a cool time, because it reminds us to celebrate our freedom from Great Britain. This is also a great time to remember what Christ did for us on the cross and to celebrate our freedom from death and sin.

Now, he got a little confused but 1 Timothy 4:8 says just that. So find some time and read your Bibles and pursue Godliness.

The 83rd Annual Academy Awards!

So last night was the 83rd Annual Academy Awards. The Academy of Motion Pictures gives out these awards called Oscars in a bunch of cool categories like Best Actress or Best Picture or even Best Costume.

It is great to see all these people work so hard and work so long on their movies and to be honored before their peers on national television.

Any movie that is produced is done in hopes of being honored with even just a nomination from the Academy Awards. Oscars are thought of as the ultimate award for a movie star or movie.

Though you and I will probably never be nominated for an Oscar we have an opportunity to receive an award that is better than a hundred Oscars. The Bible tells us that as Christians we have been given the nomination to hear Jesus say when he returns "well done, good and faithful servant".

But to hear that, we must serve others well and continue to do the things that God has called us to do. James 1:27.

Happy Valentine's Day!

We want to wish everyone a Happy Valentine's Day! Did you know where Valentine's Day comes from? Throughout history there are multiple Saint Valentines and actually no one is exactly sure who the day was named after. The one resounding thing that all of them share is that they were all martyred or put to death for their Faith.

"Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends." John 15:13

Camp Babochka!

Did you know that Sky Ranch works with a camp in RUSSIA?

The heart of Camp Babochka is to give disabled children in Russia the opportunity to just be a kid...and to develop spiritually, emotionally, physically and intellectually in an atmosphere of Love, unconditional acceptance and fun.

The word 'babochka' means butterfly, a magnificent symbol of transformation. At Camp Babochka, we see lives transformed by God as campers and counselors alike experience life in a community marked by unconditional love.

SKY RANCH IS GOING WIRELESS!

Get ready. Sky Ranch is coming to a neighborhood near you! Bring your friends and hang out with us as we share about how awesome Sky Ranch is show off our new video for SUMMER 2011.

Matthew 6

So how should we pray?

In Matthew 6, Jesus actually gives us an example of how to pray. He says before-hand to remember that God knows what you need even before you say it...so we don't have to worry about saying the perfect thing we just have to share our hearts.

Jesus lays out a prayer that first says that we should show HONOR for God. "Hallowed be your name" means to show honor for someone. The next thing Jesus reminds us to put God's will first. We should want what God wants. We are then told to seek only what we need for today and we should desire to forgive others as we have been forgiven. Lastly He says we should seek to not be lead into temptation and ask that God will help us not to sin.

Jesus doesn't say this is the only prayer we should pray but just an example of a prayer that puts God first and not a prayer that is about US. We should also know that it isn't about what you say but about what you believe.

Jesus Loves You!

What a sweet reminder! The song that comes to mind is 'Jesus loves me this I know, for the Bible tells me so...' Can you finish that line? I bet so!

It's a song most people know, but it is such truth. I can never it hear too much either. Sometimes I can forget it though. I just can't wrap my mind around the unconditional love of Jesus. Today I praise Him because I know He loves me and He loves you!

Matthew 5

Who you BE?

This past summer we talked about BEing the boy or girl God created you to be. In Matthew 5, Jesus lays out for us ways to BE just that. Most people call them the BE-atitudes. He gives us great examples of behavior for us to accomplish BEing the boy or girl God created us to be.

Read Matthew 5:2-12 and ask yourself if those are things that you are doing? Now, some of the attitudes are hard to understand, which is okay, ask your parents, ask a pastor or ask us!

What do you bring to the table?

Each of us has eaten something and said..."Man, this is kind of bland, it could use some more salt"...now, maybe not your McDonald's fries, but I promise, if your mom leaves salt out of a food she is cooking tonight, you'll notice. Salt makes food better. Jesus, does a great job of using analogies to describe how our attitudes should affect the people around us.

So, my question is what do you bring to the table? Do you make things better? Are you on a daily occurrence bringing SALT or are you bringing nothing? We should seek to make things better, if that is through our attitudes or how we help others. Lets make things better.
