I have always LOVED getting mail and still to this day I get strangely excited to see what's in that mailbox. Usually it's nothing too exciting - just bills to pay and the occasional magazine. HOWEVER! We hope you have checked your mailboxes and found Sky 1 & 2's newsletter...aka "The Pow-Wow Post"! The 83rd Annual Academy Awards!

So last night was the 83rd Annual Academy Awards. The Academy of Motion Pictures gives out these awards called Oscars in a bunch of cool categories like Best Actress or Best Picture or even Best Costume.

It is great to see all these people work so hard and work so long on their movies and to be honored before their peers on national television.

Any movie that is produced is done in hopes of being honored with even just a nomination from the Academy Awards. Oscars are thought of as the ultimate award for a movie star or movie.

Though you and I will probably never be nominated for an Oscar we have an opportunity to receive an award that is better than a hundred Oscars. The Bible tells us that as Christians we have been given the nomination to hear Jesus say when he returns "well done, good and faithful servant".

But to hear that, we must serve others well and continue to do the things that God has called us to do. James 1:27.

Happy Valentine's Day!

We want to wish everyone a Happy Valentine's Day! Did you know where Valentine's Day comes from? Throughout history there are multiple Saint Valentines and actually no one is exactly sure who the day was named after. The one resounding thing that all of them share is that they were all martyred or put to death for their Faith.
